Installation & Integration

Two new autopilot computers provide substantially more drive current than previous generations and incorporate our new SimNet plug and play sensor technology. New SimNet compass and rudder sensor, are easier than ever to install; because you no longer have to run dedicated cables back to the autopilot computer. Instead the new SimNet sensors conveniently connect via the SimNet backbone. The advanced nature of the SimNet network insures the compass and rudder data is automatically routed back to the AP28 autopilot, plus any other SimNet compatible instruments, such as IS20 Compass and Rudder displays. SimNet also features Slim Line connectors for easy cable routing, so you'll be up and running in very little time. No Drift Course - Maintain set Course over Ground even in severe wind and current conditions. State of the art display and control functions and advanced SimNet networking, makes the all new AP28 the perfect autopilot for larger power and sail boats.

The Simrad RC42 compass is designed for connection to the SimNet network. It is equipped with 5,5 m (18 feet) of SimNet cable with connector. The compass transmit the heading even if the autopilot is switched off.

The Simrad RC42 rate compass provides a significant improvement to the dynamic performance of both the autopilot and a stabilized radar display.

SX9510-60 Smart Tab SX Composite Trim Tabs, (What's this?) I have a 12' jet boat with a Merc 120HP engine that was bouncing up and down on the front, the front was also staying up too long on take off. I now have more power out of the hole and boat stays more stable on the water, less bouncing. It was easy to install took me about two hours with a drill. I did it that morning and took it out after lunch for a test drive. Perfect for my needs.
Like getting a new boat., (What's this?) I put these on a 16" Boston Whaler. Boat was a little rear heavy with the stock 90hp two-stroke and a full load of fuel, but when I repowered to a 90hp four-stroke, the extra 100 lbs made the boat porpoise and dig a big hole.

Put on this product, and wow. No hole in the water. Boat rises to plane with no bow rise at all. Planes at 13mph. Porpoising is gone. Love 'em.
They are smart, (What's this?) After seeing all of the positive reviews I felt confident that these would be good. And they are. Made from non-corrosive materials and very straight forward to install, with plenty of helpful resources from the supplier.
I am positive that these decrease my time to get planing and also increase the stability of the boat and provides a lower cruise speed on plane.

Best money I have ever spent on my boat, (What's this?) Ordered smart tab sx from Trim Tab Girl on amazon. Arrived in a flash from those gals. About an hour to install on an Alumacraft Trophy 17. The nylon bolts used in the pivot locations seem inadequate at first but turn out to be fairly tough, I guess I am used to stainless hardware around boats and will change them out at the first sign of fatigue. I used quick set 3m 5200 to seal the screws and injected some into the screw holes before installation. I let everything cure for 24 hours then off to the lake to test. First I want to point out that my Alumacraft was no dog when it came to handling and is as fine and predictable little craft that ever made the waterway.
